After years of working as a personal trainer and performance nutritionist—and earning two master’s degrees in nutrition—Tommy transitioned into the culinary world to combine his passion for nutrition and health with food. He refined his skills in kitchens across Japan, France, Portugal, and the UK, working in luxury private households and high-end hotels. His background in performance nutrition has made him a sought-after private chef for celebrities and professional athletes, for whom he crafts flavorful, health-focused dishes. Today, Tommy brings that same expertise to clients in and around London.

Sam Hough

Chef & Account Manager

Sam started out as a commis chef in Lincolnshire, working part-time while studying and eager to learn. After university, he took a chalet chef role in Courchevel, where he met Tommy — and caught the bug for mountain cooking. Over seven ski seasons, Sam rose to Executive Chef for a high-end chalet company, while summers were spent building his private chef business across the UK and Channel Islands. Back in the UK full-time, he briefly led the kitchen at a gastropub before returning to private cheffing — this time in London, co-founding The Nutrition Chefs to bring his culinary skills to clients looking to hit their health and nutrition goals.

The Start of Nutrition Chefs

After moving to London to work as a performance chef, Tommy quickly built a loyal client base of health-conscious athletes and busy professionals—people short on time but committed to achieving their nutrition, performance, and wellness goals.

Drawing on his background in performance nutrition, he crafted bespoke, health-focused dishes using top-quality ingredients sourced from some of the best local suppliers.

Around this time, Tommy reconnected with a long-time friend, Sam—a fellow private chef with a background in fine dining and experience creating gourmet meals designed to support fast-paced lifestyles and demanding routines. Their shared passion for high-quality ingredients and delicious, nourishing food made teaming up a natural next step.

Eager to improve the service they provided, Tommy and Sam recognised the need for a professional kitchen equipped with state-of-the-art catering facilities. This move allowed them to streamline their operations and enhance the quality and consistency of the food they delivered.
