Tommy Cole

Nutritionist & Chef

After years of working as a personal trainer and performance nutritionist—and earning two master’s degrees in nutrition—Tommy transitioned into the culinary world to combine his passion for nutrition and health with food. He refined his skills in kitchens across Japan, France, Portugal, and the UK, working in luxury private households and high-end hotels. His background in performance nutrition has made him a sought-after private chef for celebrities and professional athletes, for whom he crafts flavorful, health-focused dishes. Today, Tommy brings that same expertise to clients in and around London.

Sam Hough

Chef & Account Manager

Sam started out as a commis chef in Lincolnshire, working part-time while studying and eager to learn. After university, he took a chalet chef role in Courchevel, where he met Tommy — and caught the bug for mountain cooking. Over six ski seasons, Sam rose to Executive Chef for a high-end chalet company, while summers were spent building his private chef business across the UK and Channel Islands. Back in the UK full-time, he briefly led the kitchen at a gastropub before returning to private cheffing — this time in London, co-founding The Nutrition Chefs to bring his culinary skills to clients looking to hit their health and nutrition goals.

How it started

Having established ourselves within the private cheffing industry over several years, we both came to London to meet the growing demand for private chefs and high-end meal preparation across the city. We quickly became busy, often juggling multiple clients in a single day, navigating the logistics of travelling across London, waiting on ingredient deliveries, and working from a different kitchen every few hours. It was challenging, but it taught us exactly what our clients truly wanted — fridges stocked with ready-to-go meals tailored to their individual dietary requirements, built around their favourite dishes, and made to an exceptional standard.

The issue was that most meal prep services lacked the level of quality and flexibility clients were looking for. Menus were often fixed, customisation was limited, and the food rarely matched the standard expected from a private chef experience. That’s why private chefs across London continue travelling from house to house each day — because truly bespoke food is difficult to scale well.

As demand grew, we began to realise the limitations of producing everything from domestic kitchens. Without a dedicated base, it became increasingly difficult to create the specialist components that elevate great food — stocks, broths, sauces, marinades, and slow preparations that can take days to perfect. Clients also faced the disruption of having chefs take over their kitchens for hours at a time, alongside the added expense of ordering large quantities of ingredients for meals that only required small amounts of each.

We knew there was a better way. So we took the risk, secured our own commercial kitchen, and built it from the ground up with the equipment and infrastructure needed to operate at the highest standard. Suddenly, we were able to produce food with far greater consistency, quality, and efficiency — while catering for more clients at once and reducing costs compared to traditional private chef services.

And so, The Nutrition Chefs was created.

Drawing on decades of combined experience across fine dining, private cheffing, and performance nutrition, we now use our purpose-built kitchen to produce food that delivers on both nutrition and flavour — proving that healthy eating should never feel like a compromise.

By combining the standards of private cheffing with a dedicated commercial kitchen and a strong understanding of performance nutrition, we’re able to deliver something that sits between traditional meal prep and a fully private chef service. Every meal is tailored around the individual, whether the priority is performance, body composition, convenience, or simply eating better without sacrificing quality.

 

Everything we produce is designed to remove friction from eating well. From carefully sourced ingredients and chef-led preparation to tailored nutritional planning and flexible delivery, our goal is to make consistency as easy as possible for our clients. Because ultimately, the best nutrition plan is the one you can actually maintain — and enjoy — alongside the demands of real life.

Alongside founders Tommy and Sam, The Nutrition Chefs is supported by a small, highly experienced team of chefs, nutritionists, and kitchen assistants who help deliver the standard of service we’re known for.

 

Our team includes performance-focused nutritionists who also come from professional cooking backgrounds, allowing us to bridge the gap between practical nutrition and genuinely great food. Alongside them, we work with a flexible team of chefs and kitchen assistants who help us maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency as demand continues to grow.

 

While the business has expanded, we’ve intentionally kept the team relatively small and hands-on. This allows us to maintain complete oversight of the food we produce and ensure every client receives the same level of care, detail, and consistency that the business was originally built on.
